Summer Fun at Mt. Hood

So in August we went camping up on Mt. Hood in a nice little campground that had a nice creek running through it. Family joined us and we had a good time. No posting of family pictures, but I do have some. I was having fun taking pictures of water. I stood in the middle of the creek and took some of these. The creek is fed by snow run off so it was a bit chilly. I found after my feet went numb the cold water was easier to tolerate.
I really love camping. I love the smell of a campfire. I enjoy getting up and starting a fire and cooking breakfast over the fire. There is nothing better than campfire seasoned eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. I love the smell of the trees and the sound of the water, be it a creek or lake. I love fishing even though I haven't caught anything yet. I enjoy taking pictures of the interesting surroundings. I would love to camp more so I think next year that is something I am going to plan on.

Summer Fun at Diamond Lake

In July we camped at Diamond Lake with family. We rented a boat for two days and went fishing. No luck on the fish though. We did catch a lot of plants that were growing on the bottom of the lake. It was fun just to camp and be with family. No pictures of family as they requested that I not post any.
As the sun was setting this was a nice shot across the lake. Very pretty sunset.
Still snow on the mountains close by. The first night was so cold everyone was freezing at night.

These blue dragon flies were all over the place. I was very careful and moved slow and got a close up of this one.
These pinecones were all over the place. The way the sun was shining on them I thought it was pretty.
Caught the diamonds in Diamond Lake on the camera. Nice sparkle.

Summer Fun at Bulley Creek Resevoir

In the Month of June we camped at Bulley Creek Res. with some friends and had a great time. Went fishing and caught two fish but they got away. Our friends had better luck so we got to have a fish dinner on our last night there.
A small inlet of water by where we camped which is nice to park the boat there.
Over looking the resevoir towards the dam. Nice place to get a sunburn, and I did.
Another inlet that had lots of lilly pads and these neat plants floating on the water.
What we thought was a Western Tanager turned out to be a Bullock's Oriole. Very pretty bird. There were lots of them too.
This is the camp cat. She belongs to the care takers of the campground. Very likeable Kitty. She has been very busy chasing the little critters pictured below, so she is taking an afternoon nap.

These cute little critters are called Picket Pens or Ground Squirrels. I am sure there are other names for them.
